Sweet and subtle outline that’s hard to put a finger on.. this lift-focused egg came from a request in 2017 for something for the beach breaks of Japan. The bottom is focused on maximizing lifting surface area with no neutral space – the deck shape is flat and thin so the board has a nice plattery feel compared to many of my other designs – rails are low and with a slight egginess to them, not too sharp or penetrating. The first of this design is the one which was scanned, something about it under-arm just always felt sweet to me so it wasn’t a tough choice; seeing the board move under the feet of some trusted test pilots over the years only drove the point home…
